Nicola Nitido

Nicola Nitido (b. 1993, Naples) lives and works between Naples and Athens. He is an independent researcher and curator, trained in Semiotics of Art at the University of Bologna, and in Museology and Cultural Heritage Management between Madrid and Rome. His research focuses on gender and queer theories, the history of collections, and museum studies. Working through a multidisciplinary approach that spans art history and anthropology, he explores the exhibition as a critical and speculative device—one capable of articulating artists’ individual and collective research into constellations of visual archives.
He has conducted archival research on diverse aspects of European modern history for both private and institutional clients. This breadth of inquiry has shaped his critical perspective on artistic and cultural phenomena, forming the foundation of his curatorial and creative practice. Nicola is currently a board member of the In-ruins residency programme in Southern Italy and contributes as an editor to Artwort, Exibart, ATPdiary, and Forme Uniche. Alongside this, he works as an art consultant for private collectors and designs tailored guided tours across Europe.
