PARADISE IS EXACTLY LIKE WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW ONLY MUCH, MUCH BETTER

Paradise is exactly like where you are right now only much, much better is a statement: it is the desire to demonstrate the value of artistic and curatorial researches that animate the contemporary scene. The intent is to give them a voice and invest in them, in response to a system often perceived as suffering and classist. It is also a format: an action of active enhancement of a forgotten architectural asset such as Palazzo Franzone Spinola di Luccoli, as well as the artistic and cultural scene of its city. The exhibition takes its cue from the close relationship between environmental and social justice, and from the researches on sex ecologies and intersectional feminism. It tries to propose a possible application of a transdisciplinary, nonbinary, non-heteronormative, non-anthropocentric, nonmasculine approach, in favor of a rethinking of human normativity, and of the curatorial practice itself. Through the rejection of any categorization, stereotype or division, the exhibition aims to embrace the complexity of the world, looking for a space for community and plurality of voices and visions. Following that, the artists in the exhibition are united by the same desire to question the status quo and open up new spaces for critical discourse. Their works arouse a chorus of questions and call the public to interface personally with the complexity. For these reasons, it was also decided to invite curators and curatorial collectives to confront themselves with the project and the proposed themes, reactivating it every week according to their own research modalities and languages. The event is completely self-produced by a team of professionals united by the desire to complete a large-scale project, which starts from Palazzo Franzone Spinola Di Luccoli and will affect the entire city. The goal is the realization of Genova Art To Date, a mapping of the Ligurian artistic panorama, in collaboration with Untitled Association.

The exhibition is curated by Marta Orsola Sironi and Virginia Lupo, It will be hosted at Palazzo Franzone Spinola di Luccoli, in the historical center of Genoa until April 10th, 2022.
